Went fishing in the 65.4 degree Millstone River on the south shore in West Windsor, NJ, yesterday evening on a cloudy, cold day during a nor'easter and thunderstorms. Saw nearby lightning. There was a tornado watch. Only 1 car was in the parking lot when I quit. Found corn in my spot. Intruders make it difficult for me to catch fish. Saw discarded fishing line on the ground. Got stuck on the bottom many times. There is probably fishing line there also. After I threw out a can of corn for chum, I caught and released 3 black crappies to 10", 2 white perch, and 2 yellow perch with a 1/32 oz unpainted leadhead jig and 1" purple twister tail on 2 lb test line. I also landed a 13" brown bullhead, bluegill, golden shiner and 8.25 lb common carp with my homemade corn meal bait on a # 8 treble hook and 12 lb test line. As soon as I hooked the carp, it swam directly into the downed tree in the water to my left. I was fortunate that it swam out of the snag after awhile. My bait didn't turn into mush yet. Caught 36 car
