Went crow 🐦‍⬛ hunting at Duck Island this afternoon in the rain. Waited in my car 🚘 for the rain to stop but it didn’t stop raining 🌧️. Didn’t see or hear a crow 🐦‍⬛. Same weather is predicted for tomorrow afternoon.

Went fishing 🎣 on the Manasquan Inlet north jetty this evening on a warm, cloudy day with a light east wind before a storm. A guy told me that there were 500 fishermen in the Point Pleasant, NJ, surf and 100 boats 🚤 near the beach. Saw a spiny dogfish and skate get caught in the ocean. I didn’t get a hit. Saw small spearing and large sand eels in the inlet under the lights at night for the first time this year. Took pics.

Went fishing 🎣 on the Manasquan Inlet, NJ, north jetty this evening on a warm, cloudy day with a light northwesterly breeze and incoming tide. Saw bait fishermen on the dolos catch windowpane flounder and spiny dogfish. I caught, tagged and released a 25” 4 lb 10 oz winter skate in the ocean on a plain hook Ava A-17. Lost a fish 🐠 on my next cast for the final action of the day. A cast netter caught spearing and sand eels in the inlet at night under the lights. The Point Pleasant squid 🦑 netters were using their underwater green light. I took pictures.

Went fishing 🎣 at Manasquan Inlet this evening on a warm, sunny day with a moderate west wind and incoming tide during an all day striped bass on peanut bunker blitz. Most fishermen caught nothing though. As I was walking out on the jetty, a fisherman suggested that I fish 🎣 in the surf because of the stripers chasing bunker there. I made 150 casts in 2.5 hours into the ocean from the jetty near the beach and caught one peanut bunker and lost a striper. Only saw a few striped bass caught by the fishermen hoard. When three young fishermen arrived and started fishing 🎣 nearby, one of them snapped off his lure on the first cast. A young blonde girl surfer 🏄‍♀️ went out into the ocean among the flying lures, jumping fish 🐟 and boats 🛥️. I took pictures. Fell on the jetty at night. I may try fresh water fishing 🎣 and hunting soon. Fishing 🎣 in a crowd is not fun.

Went fishing 🎣 in 52 degrees Carnegie Lake this afternoon on a warm, cloudy day with a light west wind. Threw out corn 🌽 for chum, then caught nothing with canned, whole kernel corn 🌽 bait. Only had one bite at night. Caught a shiner with my hand when I arrived at the lake, then caught and released a largemouth bass with a 1/32 oz twister tail jig on 2 lb test line. Looks like corn 🌽 bait doesn’t work in cold water. I will switch to red worms 🪱 soon.
