I have recently acquired a home recording suite and new WIN10 system with a legitimately powerful processor, enough RAM and a suitably big enough hard drive to begin storing with. Now I'm in the process of finding pre-used sound treatment gear.
This is the missing link that completes my mission of playing on a true 7 piece set of Yamaha Stage Custom Advantages! That fill in tom was either a Slingerland or a Ludwig and I will see to it that it finds a loving new home.
I have been performing/ministering in the form of playing guitar and singing at nearby coffee houses in addition to the one here in Johnstown on Clinton St., the Flood City Cafe. It's been a great experience and this week I plan to witness two new encounters, one at Little City Cafe in the little city of Monongahela and at DV8 Expresso Bar and Gallery in Greensburg. Already this week I completed an arrangement to a poem and immediately informed the poet. Soon, I hope to do a recording of the song to send to the writer and make sure I get her final approval. I plan to sing this song on Saturday in Greensburg (for Friday night at Little City, they're requesting strictly original music--arrangements could be counted against your favor). I may even go back down to Cumberland again on Sunday to sing this song there; I like those guys!
This is the photo of my "NO LONGER unofficial" 7 piece drumset. You see, I bought a Ludwig 16" floor tom for $30 and took all the unnecessary paint off of the hardware (except one of the rims, i just left it alone--taking an excessive amount of paint off all these pieces was A PAAAAAAIN!! ugh). This past Monday, i bought the final missing piece to my set, a 16" Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage floor tom which was shipped out yesterday. Since the heads were only used for a short time, I took them off the other floor tom and when the missing link arrives, it gets an Evans EC2 batter head and a G1 resonant head on the bottom. I'm just waiting to hear the vintage tone on that baby when it gets here and gets tuned up!
