It's the first of three shows in honor of the legendary artist.
Prince's longtime backing band The Revolution performed the first of three shows at Minneapolis' iconic venue First Avenue, where Purple Rain was shot, last night.
The Revolution played renditions of "Let's Go Crazy," "Little Red Corvette," "Do It All Night" and "Purple Rain" during the two-hour set, according to Pitchfork.
"If Prince saw this right now, he’d be in tears," said guitarist Wendy Melvoin during the show according to the Star Tribune.
The Revolution performed with Prince from 1980 to 1986, performing on Purple Rain, Around The World In A Day and Parade.
