Summer tour announcements may be cooling down, but Axl Rose's extensive concert plans are just heating up. Also announced over the last seven days is the return of Wilco, plus a surprise tour to go with James Blake's surprise album. Surprise! Here's who we're most excited to see hit the road.
Wilco North & South American Tour
Indie-rockers Wilco have announced a fresh batch of tour dates. This time around, the Jeff Tweedy-fronted group will perform in both North America and South America, a first for the group who has only performed in the Southern country once over the course of their 21 years together. The fun begins on June 1 and goes until October 15. Click here for more info.
Flight of the Conchords NYC Residency
Just a few days before their official tour kicks off, New Zealand duo Flight of the Conchords will perform a five-night residency at New York City’s McKittrick Hotel. The string of shows runs from June 1 through the 5th, before they officially hit the road on June 9. Click here for more info.
'Something Rotten' National Tour
The ten-time Tony-Award winning musical, Something Rotten, has announced plans for a national tour (in addition to its current run at the St. James Theatre on Broadway). It launches next year in Boston from January 10-15, followed by stops in Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Tampa and more. Click here for more info.
James Blake 'Colour in Anything' Tour
In support of his surprise new album, Colour in Anything, James Blake has announced a batch of 2016 tour dates. It begins with a chunk of festy appearances, starting on Field Day Festival in London on June 11. Blake will touch down in the US on September 23 at House of Blues Dallas, running until October 20 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, CA. Click here for more info.
AC/DC with Axl Rose Tour
Could this be the greatest pairing in rock n' roll history, or the worst? We're about to find out, with dates for the Axl Rose-fronted AC/DC tour having just been revealed. The shows start less than a week after the Guns N' Roses tour ends, on August 27 at the Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina. The final date takes place on September 20 in Philly at the Wells Fargo Center. Click here for more info.
