The future, it's coming on.
Damon Albarn says that he is about to start recording a new Gorillaz album. "I'm starting recording in September for a new Gorillaz record," he said to Australian TV ABC 7.30, according to Complex. "I've just been really, really busy so I haven't had a chance. I'd love to just get back into that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week."
Albarn first talked of a Gorillaz reunion late last year, saying that he hopes to release the new record by 2016. Then in January, animator Jamie Hewlett posted portraits of bassist Murdoc Niccals and lead guitarist Noodle to Instagram. "Yes. Gorillaz Returns," he said in the comments.
Gorillaz were once the most popular band on Myspace, surpassing Bullet for My Valentine and Amy Winehouse with 682,875 friends.
