Next question: Who will join Coldplay on stage that night?
The NFL has announced its first act billed for the 2016 Super Bowl. Coldplay is scheduled to perform at halftime for the first time in its 15-year history. In a behind-the-scenes video, the band meets to talk its stage set-up and setlist ("Maybe this song, we mix it up a bit," Coldplay's artistic director says).
"Well, now you've mentioned it, I'm really, really nervous," frontman Chris Martin says.
Fortunately for him at least, Coldplay will bring out special guests during its performance. Us Weekly, who broke the news of Coldplay's halftime show, reports of rumors that 2013 Super Bowl performer Bruno Mars will be one of them. But the possibilities seem endless, especially considering the band's past collaborators—Beyoncé, Jay Z and Rihanna, among others.
