I hear people say ”well at least...” or explain what is going on for them promptly followed by, ”but”, a lot these days.For example:Work cut my hours dramatically but at least I still have my job. OrThat hurt so bad but I'll get over it, just gotta try and stay positive.By speaking this way, everything before the ”but” or ”at least” gets invalidated. Then we add a layer of guilt or judgment for the feelings attached to the first part of our truth.So, in this manner ”still having a job” negates how awful it must feel to lose our income.
