The music revolution spawned by the Beatles' first appearances on 'The Ed Sullivan Show' 50 years ago is being told with a flurry of books, rare photos and television footage. But desert luminaries can tell their own first-hand versions of the British rock invasion.
Check out today's feature article in The Desert Sun/USA Today, about The Beatles, and some celebrities who experienced first-hand, working with, and becoming friends with the Fab Four. For more:
A great piece by noted music journalist, Bruce Fessier, that features a wonderful lead-off story on Trini Lopez and The Beatles, with a nod to award-winning filmmaker, Chip Miller, and his Summer 2014 Public Television tribute special, "Trini Lopez: Live Again - A 50th Anniversary All-Star Salute".
Currently airing nationally on Public Television, is Miller’s successful 90 minute special, “Rhythm of the Dance”, filmed throughout Ireland. Both shows are presentations of Desert C.A.M. Studios/Winmill Films (headed by Miller and partner Don Pinckston), and Terrel Cass Productions.

Chip Miller was in Ireland last fall to direct a PBS program, "Rhythm of the Dance." At Kylemore Castle in Connemara, Miller photographed Irish ribbon dancer Leslie McDonough rehearse before a shoot as a light drizzle began. "The unusual light fog, drizzle and August sun rising all at once created a magical moment, where the dancer became one with the scene, her ribbon and long hair flowing in the wind," he said. The La Quinta resident used a Sony PMW EX3 video camera on "stills" mode.

The show had a successful PBS premiere at this year’s (2013) St. Patrick’s Day, and is now set to be an annual broadcast each St. Paddy’s Day. See photo at:
