Brief report on the exhibition at the Gemini N Scorrpio steampunk event
last night.
The New York Knights/Armored Combat League debut at the Gemini N Scorrpio "Lost
Circus" event was a success! The action held the attention of the entire crowd
of several hundred people in the ballroom from beginning to end. In our two
10-minute sets, We opened with a preliminary bout between two fighters in SCA
armor with rattan, and followed with a round robin between three fighters in ACL
armor with steel, all sword & shield or buckler. I and Sam Awry took turns MCing
as the other fought. Everyone I spoke to enjoyed the heck out of it, most
especially the energy of it and the fact that it was not choreographed. There
were also good comments about the skill of the fighters. the organizer of the
party was very, very happy with us and glad that we were there. Next stop: The
Fort Tryon Park Medieval Fest on Sunday, Sept 29!
