I learn today of the sad news that J.J.Cale has died of a heart attack-like many I'm sure -J.J. was a huge influence on my guitar playing and his song writing was excellent -following the ethos of keeping it simple he wrote the book on 'laid back'playing -his guitar style was far more complex and compelling than many gave him credit for and he was lauded by many guitar playing bands who featured his songs on their albums-he will always hold a place in my heart- my thoughts go out to his friends and family-mike pedril thompson
