World of their own
 
Two roses bloom
In a field of green
Scarlet heads bobbing
See all, yet unseen
 
The sun and rain
Paint their faces
The scent that lingers
To familiar faces
 
This their world
Untouched by all
Until petals drop
At coming of fall
 
But while they stay
Their joy untold
Two roses bloom
In scarlet bold

The End Of The Night
 
They flipped the switch
And everything stopped
The lights went out
And the music wound down
The party’s over
Time to go home
But still in your head
The laughter, the songs
The buffet and booze
A memory of shared good times
Or crying on the stairs
Dancing with him and him
And her and her
A stolen kiss
And shouted slurs
Knowing pain tomorrow
But who cares tonight
And a sad sigh
That the party is over
With a flip of the switch

Tell My Brain
 
Without you
Shadows are empty
Waiting is never ending
Silence covers your voice
 
The space in my head
Where you lived
Is a haunted cavern
Where not even your ghost
Rests with a smile
 
The invisible thread
Is frayed to almost breaking
Too scared to pull
In case it snaps
Or is torn away
 
And left with the feeling
That I am part of nothing
Lost in a daylight world
Where shadows are empty
And I am always drifting
 
No guide or teacher
No playmate, opponent
Or muse
Just endless empty dreams
Of living without you
