The Elf struck a match allowing the flame to ignite the wick of a candle that sat on a desk while listening to the steady beat of the rain as it hit the tiles of the roof. It was nearly bedtime but Álfrún was not quite ready to curl up and sleep. Not just yet. Emm was away on an overnight trip for business and she wanted to send him something that he would hopefully tuck into his jacket pocket and keep next to his heart. The Elf knew she could have texted him, but she needed him to have something more intimate… more personal. And so she sat down at the desk, opened one of the drawers and pulled out a piece of parchment, a bottle of ink and an old fountain pen. And she wrote:
