  • President-elect Donald Trump has selected Dr. Mehmet Oz to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, a key federal agency responsible for overseeing health insurance coverage for more than 150 million Americans. Dr. Oz, a well-known television personality and former regular guest on Oprah Winfrey's show before hosting his own, previously ran for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania in 2022, where he was defeated by John Fetterman. In his announcement, Trump stated that Oz would collaborate closely with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to help make the nation "Great and Healthy Again!"
