Fear and Loathing in Portland, ORThere was no escape from the voice. For days the bastard prodded at my conscience, like an annoying girlfriend who knew me all too well. I finally answered the call and gathered my requirements for the adventure. Carhart carpenter shorts were the obvious apparel choice for a riot outing. Plenty of side pockets but not that cargo short bullshit. I eagerly filled my pockets; Samsung 3G flip phone, 2 bottles of Natural Concepts brand hand sanitizer, blue ragged bandana, Nikon Coolpix 3x zoom 10 megapixel camera and cartoon cat flipping a double bird face mask. I eased Vincent, my black Honda Ridgeline, smoothly onto I-5 south. I could feel the Pepcid AC starting to kick in. Neil was on the radio whaling about Kent St. as I barreled down an empty road.I hit 3rd and Salmon at about 8:30 pm. There it stood. The source of the problem. A U.S. Federal Courthouse.
