We got an up close visit from this ginormous beast of a polar bear. Even high up in the Tundra Buggy, he was still intimidatingly large with paws that were at least a foot wide.

Show moreThis is the night sky over Theodore Roosevelt National Park. What was once a completely dark sky is now littered with abundant light, not from nearby towns, but from the oil and gas expansion in the region that has consumed every surrounding square mile. The park has tragically become an island of natural beauty amongst a sea of harmed land and pollution, both in terms of waste in the air and light.
Show moreWhile up in Churchill, we checked every night for northern lights, only to find clouds blanketing the sky each night. On our last night, a thick fog rolled in and blocked us once again. The next morning, I woke up early to check, and lo and behold, the sky was filled with auroras! It was a great going away present from Churchill.
