    Today in Rock History. On this day in 1985, a quartet of pot-smoking misfits began rehearsals in a rented garage in north Clearwater, Florida. After several months of rigorous rehearsals, the band was finally ready for its much-anticipated debut concert at the renowned Reagle Beagle Pub in Dunedin, Florida. The show was a smashing success. To show their appreciation after the performance, all eleven audience members chipped in 50 cents to purchase a pitcher of beer for the band.  The group's members vowed not to let this new-found stardom go to their heads. They continued to burn the midnight oil, rehearsing throughout the week and playing at many of Pinellas County's finest beer & wine establishments on Friday and Saturday nights - all the while gaining a reputation as one of northwest Clearwater's twenty best classic rock cover bands. Within months, the group was awarded the highly coveted gig as house band at Little JR's Pizza Restaurant & Bar.
