The band's fourth record is slated for a summer release
Tame Impala performed two new songs on SNL last night (March 30).
The Kevin Parker-fronted band, who are expected to follow up 2015’s ‘Currents’ with a record this year, debuted this month’s comeback single ‘Patience‘ as well as a previously unreleased song called ‘Borderline’.
Parker has said that he doesn’t “like to play unreleased songs live… the first time people hear it is the kind of recorded glory, like the premeditated thing that I’ve spent two years on – rather than being half-drunk bashing it out on stage, you know, hitting clanger notes and stuff.” But last night’s show seems to conflict with his prior statement.
The Australian group headline this year’s Coachella before playing a host of other festivals this summer.
