Ron Burgundy is mainly known for having salon-quality hair and reading the news,
but starting next week, he’ll be doing something quite different: podcasting. That is, if he can figure out what that entails.
“Right now, I’m a little terrified because I don’t know what a podcast is,” Burgundy says in a new trailer for The Ron Burgundy Podcast, which EW can exclusively debut below. He then inadvertently proves this statement by proclaiming, “Let’s take some calls!” There are, of course, no calls.
In case there was any doubt, that’s Will Ferrell returning as the legendary newsman of Anchorman and Anchorman 2, in a new podcast produced by iHeartMedia and Funny Or Die. The show is set for two 12-episode seasons. Based on the trailer, it’s not entirely clear what exactly The Ron Burgundy Podcast will entail — which is part of the point. The promo features several absurd sound bites that may or may not make more sense in context, such as, “So if you’re a Taurus, your horoscope is, ‘Come on, pull your s— together.’” Or, “I am a man who likes a good, rare pile of meat and a sip from a crystal goblet now and then.”
