The LA-via-Detroit rapper gets up close and personal in his new video.
Fast, intimate rhymes and rock vibes embody "Bars," the title track from Jonezen’s new record. We’re glad to premiere the music video for the hard-hitting single, which features tight shots of Jonezen rapping and hanging with his posse in a warehouse. His Detroit roots come through loud and clear on "Bars," in which he dives into his past and riffs in a rap battle style on the latter half of the track.
"Now I ain’t sayin’ I’m more deaf than most," raps Jonezen. "Just most soul than 99 percent of my immediate peers."
"I feel like everything about both the record and the video are a bit different than what you see and hear nowadays," says Jonezen to Myspace.
"The song is just an in your face rock/hip hop track and the video gives you lots of different elements. You've got the crew, the black shots, the full band, and the dancer all wrapped up into this amazing visual. The producer Brian Bolen, and Director Brian Cox absolutely killed it. I'm extremely happy with how it all turned out."
