Going acoustic isn’t easy, but we think these artists would’ve been amazing on Unplugged.
MTV Unplugged had some truly special, and even downright legendary, performances. Nirvana, Eric Clapton, and 10,000 Maniacs were just three of the memorable acts that created classic albums out of the experience.
While there were a plethora of artists who went unplugged for MTV, there are still some acts we feel were overlooked, and would’ve been a perfect fit for the show.
Here are 9 artists we wish has been on MTV Unplugged.
Nelly Furtado
While Nelly Furtado’s first big hit, “I’m Like a Bird,” is an obvious choice for going acoustic, we’d be thoroughly intrigued to hear unplugged arrangements of songs like “Turn Off The Light” and “Say It Right,” which could be taken in radically unique directions. Imagine stripping down a Timbaland beat to its acoustic bones? How cool would that be?
