Los Angeles trio debut new song "Magic" from their forthcoming album, 'Beverly Kills.'
Like a lightning bolt, the Gitas' new single "Magic" starts out with a strike, in this case a guitar chord that cuts right through that's propelled the Los Angeles trio into some heavy, hard-rocking territory. The track is from their forthcoming album Beverly Kills, due out on February 17.
With phone, computer and TV screens sucking up most of our attention these days, frontman Sasha Chemerov says that the song is a rally call. "It's an appeal to listen to the nature and the universe, listen to your soul and make a change." It's anti-establishment at its heart, drawing its theme from the idea of a community with spunk and personality as opposed to people "spending their lives in virtual reality trying to do what they have been told by the sneaky soulless system."
So how did the track come to life? The band holed up in a studio to work it out and even stumbled into some top-secret territory. "The studio experience was fun because we got to play with different fuzz pedals, from a cigar pack fuzz to radioactive fuzz box. Unfortunately we can't name them because they contain nuclear materials."
