The follow-up to 2013's 'Reflektor' will be released this year.
Arcade Fire are prepping for a huge 2017. Their drummer Jeremy Gara confirmed that the Grammy-winning group has finished recording a new record and is about to embark on a massive world tour.
"[We're] still mixing and trying to decide which songs will end up on the record, because we’ve recorded more than we need," said Gara to Red Bull Poland (via Consequence of Sound). "I know we’re a popular band, but we always stick to the same rule; we record until we feel that the music is ready."
There's also a very, very extensive upcoming tour in the works. "I don’t know where we’re going to play, I don’t know when we start, or when we finish," continued Gara. "From my perspective, it looks like Arcade Fire starts in April and finish around April 2019."
In the meantime, Arcade Fire will release The Reflektor Tapes/Live at Earls Court, a compilation of the band's first feature film and concert footage from their 2014 The Reflektor tour, on January 27. Watch the trailer below.
