The longtime pals finally link up for a full-length project.
In 2007, Playaz Circle featured Lil Wayne in its debut single "Duffle Bag Boy"—the hip-hop duo's first brush at mainstream success. One half of Playaz Circle was the rapper Tity Boi, who would change his moniker years later to 2 Chainz. Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz have since reunited in joint album COLLEGROVE, out today (March 4). And in opening track "Dedication," 2 Chainz reminds of how Weezy has always had his back, even when his Disturbing Tha Peace label boss didn't: "You said Luda was foolish because he wasn't excited."
