Now is the time to decide: Are you with Iggy, or are you against her?
Iggy Azalea is back, for better or worse. Today she released "Team," the debut single off her upcoming sophomore album Digital Distortion. And while its first ten seconds sound promising (that elastic synth hits hard), the remaining three minutes disappoints. "Team" is actually a declaration of independence. The hook goes, "Baby I got me, baby I got me / And that's all I need, yeah that's all I need." Yet, after trying to rap in a Southern drawl like her Grand Hustle mentor T.I., Iggy switches to a lazy attempt at a Jamaican patois before interpolating Juvenile's "Back That Azz Up." Between that and her reaches for punchlines ("Watch a new car dash, call me Kylie"), the New Classic rapper could actually use some help.
