She reprises her starring role as the cunning Kathryn Merteuil.

Last fall, NBC announced that it will revive 1999's Cruel Intentions as a TV drama. Last night, Sarah Michelle Gellar announced that she will reprise her starring role as the cunning Kathryn Merteuil.

She posted two pictures side by side of her with Cruel Intentions director Roger Kumble and executive produer Neal Moritz. One was a throwback from the original shoot, while the other was of present day. Sarah even quoted one of Kathryn's best lines to show how excited she is: "Everyone loves me, and I intend to keep it that way."

The film, itself an adaptation of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos' Les Liaisons dangereuses, has Kathryn and her stepbrother Sebastian Valmont (Ryan Phillippe) placing a wager: If Sebastian can bed their prep school's headmaster's daughter (Reese Witherspoon), then Kathryn will sleep with him—and if he can't, Kathryn gets his vintage Jaguar XK140.
