Dylan previously declined an invitation to attend the Nobel Prize Ceremony in Sweden.

Bob Dylan just doesn't want to make an appearance in honor of his Nobel Prize Award. The legendary singer-songwriter didn't attend an event in honor of American Nobel Prize winners at the White House yesterday, according to The Hill

"Unfortunately, Bob Dylan will not be at the White House today. So everyone can relax," said press secretary Josh Earnest to reporters.

Dylan previously said that he couldn't attend the Noble Price Ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden because of "pre-existing commitments." The news came after the Swedish Academy had a very difficult time getting ahold of him to let him know that he won.

The Academy is still hopeful that Dylan will give a Nobel lecture, the only requirement for accepting the award. Let's just say we'll be surprised if that happens.

Revisit Dylan in his prime with his rendition of "The Times They Are A Changin'" from 1964.
