"I apologize to anyone that I offended and have only the best wishes for our country.”

Gigi Hadid and Jay Pharoah threw down the comedic punches during their hosting stint at the 2016 American Music Awards. Gigi really went there when she impersonated Melania Trump by recanting her RNC speech where Melania was caught picking lines from one of Michelle Obama's previous speeches. "I love my husband, President Barack Obama and our children, Sasha and Malia," Gigi said with pursed lips and in an accent.

Many who tuned in found the joke to be distasteful and quickly grilled the supermodel on social media. So in an effort to make things right, Gigi hand-wrote a letter apologizing for her behavior.

"I too have been the center of a nationally televised comedy skit that poked fun at my actions, and was able to find the humor in it," she wrote. "I believe Melania understands show business and the way shows are written and run. I apologize to anyone that I offended and have only the best wishes for our country."
