She responds to the drummer's negative critique of her new single "Perfect Illusion."
Lady Gaga is protective of "Perfect Illusion," the lead single off Joanne.
On Monday night, The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney had some choice words on the track. "I'm lost because the guitar at the top of the song sounds so sh--ty -- it sounds like Hulk Hogan is playing the guitar," he said on his Vice News Tonight segment "High Standards Music Corner" (via Billboard).
Both Gaga and her producer Mark Ronson went to Twitter to reprimand his comment.
First, Ronson remembered when Carney told him that his megahit "Uptown Funk" wouldn't work. And then, Gaga came at him full-blast.
@MarkRonson @pitchfork he's not as snarky as I would be watching him in a guitar death-match w Kevin Parker and Josh F☠️cking Homme

And, yes, Carney did respond.
To be clear @ladygaga @MarkRonson I just said the guitar at the top sounds like Hogan™. Lighten up and listen up. https://t.co/yx2NlNIyCt
