Is Zayn Malik all grown up? The ex-One Directioner tries his absolute best to prove that he is with debut solo single "Pillowtalk." Its Bouha Kazmi-directed video tries to show how heady sex can be with its kaleidoscopic effects, naked women and scenes where Zayn steals kisses from his girlfriend, model Gigi Hadid. "So we'll piss off the neighbors," Zayn sings to thunderous drums, as if screaming from the rooftops.

Every aspect of "Pillowtalk" can be summed up in one word: loud.

Of course, Zayn wasn't aiming for subtlety. Before "Pillowtalk" was released, Zayn told The Sunday Times that the song was "so pure, so dirty and raw"—essentially, everything that One Direction's music isn't.

"I think I'm pretty black and white about what it's about," he says, adding, "Everybody has sex, and it's something people want to hear about. It's part of everybody's life, a very big part of life. And you don't want to sweep it under the carpet. It has to be talked about."
