The city's attorney demands that Justin's people help out with the investigation.

As Justin Bieber has been getting back into our good graces and avoiding any issues with the law, the 21-year-old pop star is in hot water again.

The Associated Press (via The Guardian) reports that San Francisco city attorney Dennis Herrera is pushing for Universal Music Group, Justin's music publisher, to aid in finding out who the person behind the promotional graffiti for his latest album, Purpose.

Although writing on sidewalks to PR a particular brand, event or campaign is pretty common nowadays, apparently the messages haven't disappeared after multiple periods of rain. That means whoever did it used paint instead of chalk, which is what's normally used for promo stints.

“This prohibited marketing practice illegally exploits our city’s walkable neighborhoods and robust tourism, intentionally creates visual distractions that pose risks to pedestrians on busy rights of way, and irresponsibly tells our youth that likeminded lawlessness and contempt for public property are condoned and encouraged by its beneficiaries,” Herrera wrote in a letter sent to Universal Music Group on December 28.

The label has yet to comment on the situation.
