If you didn't hear any of these songs this year, you may have been living under a rock.

2015 has proven to be a strong year when it's come to good music. From comeback kids like Justin Bieber and Adele to up-and-comers like Fetty Wap and Alessia Cara, this year was full of hit songs that made it a little difficult to choose the best of the best. However, looking back on the past 12 months, we chose the songs that were constantly on repeat or made many people's must-hear lists. Here are the 8 Songs that encapsulate 2015.

"Hello" - Adele

From the moment we heard a clip of her vocals during the UK's X Factor, we were ecstatic to know that Adele was back. And she did it in such a big way with her heart-wrenching ballad, "Hello." From the honest lyrics to that big church bell that tolls midway through the tune, Adele knows how to make her presence known.

"Hotline Bling" - Drake

While Drake's "Hotline Bling" had heavy rotation on the radio, it wasn't until we saw him bust a move in the music video that we truly fell in love with the track. Not only does he show off his smooth vocals on this one, but it also has just enough bounce to get you moving on the dancefloor.

"Bitch Better Have My Money" - Rihanna

While we're still waiting for her upcoming album, Anti, Rihanna did drop a stand alone single that made you all hot and bothered while scaring the shit out of you. She takes no prisoners with "Bitch Better Have My Money," and the video proves to be quite the mob film. While she's looking sexy in couture, you definitely don't want to piss off Rihanna.

"Lean On" - Major Lazer & DJ Snake feat. MØ

We love collaborations, especially ones you don't expect. So when Major Lazer and DJ Snake teamed up with Danish indie electro pop singer, MØ, we thought something interesting would come out of it. And we were right. From the rhythmic hook and dancey beat, this was a mainstay on playlists and radio since it dropped in March.

“Where Are U Now” - Jack U feat. Justin Bieber

After all his ridiculousness over the past few years, 2015 became Justin Bieber's big comeback. But before he bestowed us with his hit LP, Purpose, he teamed up with Skrillex and Diplo, aka Jack U, on "Where Are U Now." And the three artists told the New York Times that the melody and beats are all different distortions of Justin's vocals. Seriously, how cool is that?

"Can't Feel My Face" - The Weeknd

From the moment you hit play on The Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face," it quickly makes you want to move. And although the meaning of the song might not be the best of habits, you can't help but love Abel Tesfaye's vocals to the retro beat.

"Trap Queen" - Fetty Wap

2015 is Fetty Wap's year. From the moment we heard his melodic hip hop flow on "Trap Queen," we were all hooked. After that, Fetty was everywhere, and we don't don't hate that.

"Whip/Nae Nae" - Silento

Whether or not you want to admit it, you're a pro at doing the whip, nae nae or stanky leg. This is not only the track of the summer but will be a mainstay at party playlists from now on.

"Here" - Alessia Cara

Alessia Cara may sound lyrically abrasive. But the truth can't hurt, right? "Here" became the anthem for anyone who doesn't just follow the in crowd and the nostalgic tune for anyone who wanted to get out of the lame party and just chill at home on a Friday night.

"See You Again" - Wiz Khalifa feat. Charlie Puth

If there was one song to tug at those heart strings, it's "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth. Paying homage to the late Paul Walker and his final role in Furious 7, the track can resonate with anyone who's lost somebody.
