Ancient Future leader Matthew Montfort is offering a series of free in person music workshops on Wednesdays at the Cloverdale Arts Alliance in Sonoma County. A separate set of free workshops will be held online. An inspiring music instructor who helps students of all levels and ages learn whatever style they desire, Montfort is on the 100 Greatest Acoustic Guitarists list at DigitalDreamDoor.com along with luminaries like Michael Hedges and Merle Travis. The free workshops start on June 12, 2024, with the 7 PM 'Beginning Guitar' and the 7:45 PM 'Intermediate Guitar' workshops. Featured on June 19, 2024, at 7 PM, is 'Got Rhythm? Get the Beats of Africa, Bali, and India,' a rhythm workshop for all music lovers based on Montfort's rhythm training manual, Ancient Traditions – Future Possibilities, which is used at prestigious schools such as Berklee College of Music.
