Die Zipfelbuben are a German party band from Berlin that mixes schlager, dance music, and volksmusik together in a style reminiscent of DJ Ötzi.
Founded in 2005, the group is a trio comprised of Berlin-based friends Timo Schulz, Dirk Ostermann, and Florian Flesch. They made their debut in 2006 with the Top 50 hit single "Kedeng, Kedeng!" The follow-up single, "Der Teufel und der Junge Mann" (2006), was another hit, though less popular. Die Zipfelbuben made their full-length album debut in 2007 with Volkspop, which spawned yet another hit single, "Unser Lied." A couple years later Die Zipfelbuben moved from WEA to Sony and released their second album, Party, Party, Party (2009), which was a Top Ten hit in Germany and a Top 20 hit in Austria. The album's lead single, "Hier im Dschungel," was similarly popular, going all the way to number six in Germany. The song features the Dschungel Allstars and was promoted as the theme song from the fourth season of the television show Ich Bin ein Star - Holt Mich Hier Raus! ~ Jason Birchmeier
