reviews

John Anthony Brisbin, a freelance writer, (ie; Living Blues Magazine), upon hearing Zanne perform live in Chicago writes “The ache and passion she wrings from standards like 'Summertime', 'Unchain My Heart', and 'Since I Fell For You' leave no heart in the room untouched.”

San Francisco Art Magazine: Jesai writes "for lovers of New Orleans style R&B, Zanne Mack is just the ticket..her cd is full of a hot down & dirty delta feel. Mack's vocal style is that raw, from the soul blues style that has been used with great success by such greats as Janis Joplin & Etta James...Her solo slide guitar work & story songs evoke visions of life in old timey cabins on the bayou.

An Amazon reviewer Billman (Hayward, CA.) writes...

"Of the 11 songs on this album, nine are originals and they show the great imagination and versatility of this up-and-coming singer/songwriter/guitarist. My personal favorite is Tell Me Why because of the emotion she packs into her vocals, and when she hits that 'power' towards the end it gives me goose bumps every time. Wow! The first time I heard that song it brought a tear. Also her vocals on Piece Of My Heart have the same essence of the original, and harken back to the powerful vocals of Janis Joplin. You can hear a similar kind of timbre in her voice that definitely reminds you of Janis and Big Brother and The Holding Company. Why I Sit Here And Drink is another one with great lyrics and vocals/ guitar. ... I highly recommend it.”

Alan B. also in the music industry says “".Lunar Groove's Zanne Mack is not only a skillful songwriter and a tough blues guitarist, but primarily the possessor of a voice...fine sandpaper oiled with southern comfort, sweet and rough. Her unpretentious delivery summons the spirits of Janis and Big Mama Thornton. When she hits her stride, the emotional honesty and drama can literally give one chills down the spine. Combine this with a biker-mama's ass-kicking ethos and a band of funky groove-meisters and you're in for a treat indeed."

Mike Dollins"..Queen of the Stratocaster....Hold onto your hat brother, as this first lady of the blues Stratocaster can smoke that thing. A wide range of true down home blues, r&b, & funk in her arsenal, she is the real deal. Now this is a lady I would love to be in a jam session with someday, as I can tell by her feel, she loves her guitar. Too many folks are in love with their self these days, instead of the music. Not here with this lady, go on over & listen to some fine blues, & r&b. In fact buy her cd & listen to it all. You too will see how she loves her guitar, & the music. Nice old strat too."
