Zandem started out as fun, when Alan Kelly started exchanging music stuff with one of his fans from his SHY days,Babis Kaisas from Greece.
Soon, they came up with demoed song ideas that Babis had come up,and Alan had treated them in a more professional way, adding keys, lead guitars, bass, vocals, and drums of course. That led to the first Self Titled 9 track Zandem demo mid 2006.
At some point they tried the ex Karallon basist Dave Deeley for the singer's spot in late 2006. Using the same demo cover/title,they rereleased it with 3 tracks sung by Dave only.
The collaboration didn't go on for long, and they kept going as a duet for a while till mid 2007,putting out the Zandem Self Titled demo again, with a better production, and also doing a little video for the song "Cold Feelings"(available on Kaisas YouTube page).
Alan Kelly decided he wanted to concentrate on his own material towards September 2007,that came to fruition a few years later under 7HY.
Babis Kaisas tried to continue under the Zandem name, putting out 2 more demoes.
The 3 Eras consisted from 3 songs from each era of the project with Alan,Dave, and Babis doing lead vocals(and not only),and came out mid 2008.
The Lost Sessions demo, was actually closing the Zandem chapter,by putting all the lost tracks that had not been on the previous demos, some with Dave Deeley as well, all on 1 cd. Came out sometime in 2009.
Zandem was also featured on the Little Heroes Vol.10 CD compilation by Underground Tapes, that came out somewhere around the end of the project.
Nowadays Babis Kaisas is working under the name Kaisas having released 2 albums so far with collaborations from singers like Tony Mills(SHY/TNT),and Mark Evans(Heavens Edge).
Alan Kelly formed his own project 7HY with which he has released 1 album so far,and is working on further material.
