Yusuf Yoshi Misdaq was born in Brighton, England and now he travels.
He sees music, writing and art in general as tools that can make people happy and bring the world together, however he believes in doing this intimately, with small audiences with a focus on offline, community-oriented, humble approaches that empower everyday people.

His recent songs have titles like, "Don't Be Sad Ones" and his albums have titles like, "If You Ask Me, Yes". His latest movie "Ocean of Safety," is being screened across the USA right now in a series of intimate one-man-roadshow-style screenings. His work (the film being the latest example) seems to be making people happy, and making people react with a lot of emotions, including tears.

The late Ernest G. Mclain, Professor of Music at Brooklyn College, said of Yusuf Misdaq, "His language is explosively brilliant. He is a very tall, thin, handsome lad indeed. I trust him with everything at first sight... He is everything in looks, deportment, courtesy and literary promise I could hope for. He is enough in himself to give one hope. I must leave everything in his hands, to do as he pleases."
