Yiyi
Yiyi, how I got this name? “Well it is a nickname that just stuck”, for
no apparent reason my siblings started calling me Yiyi. I have four sisters
and one brother. I come from a musical background that spreads over three
decades. My mother was a songwriter and my brother is a bass guitarist.
Music is in my veins. I just knew that somehow I would be involved in House
Music. It didn't start out this way but with the lease of "N2 House” I can see
myself being a part of the house scene for a long long time. House music
just seems more like me. It’s not that I am not versatile. It’s what I do and I
feel it when I am doing it. I wrote and produced “N2 House” in about a two
week time frame. I liked the feeling and I just wanted to do it. So I did it.
That’s what I do when I am working on material that I feel. I had written a
couple of other house songs before “N2 House” but I just wasn't as
passionate about them as I was about “N2 House.” I just had to record it, of
course I couldn't have done it without my producer,beatmaker. D-Lo, he’s
the best.
Yea, “N2 House” is the firsthouse song that I released. Seeing that
I am an artist/writer I’ve spend a lot of my time writing and arranging. I've
done tons of Hip Hop,R&B and wrote and recorded a lot of hook lines for
various artist. The latest project that I have been a part of is a single called
“Here I Come.” The artist are Zelioso and DJ. I wrote and sang the chorus
line for this song. These two are finishing up their album, in which I co-
wrote about three songs on the album and a midst all of this madness I am
putting together a house album and planning my video.
I think DJ Frankie Knockles (Godfather of House) would be proud of
me. That’s how house music originated. DJ Frankine Knockles got all of this
started back in Chicago years ago and it just migrated to other parts of the
country. I am from Louisiana myself but when you go to California and New
York you are definitely on the house scene. Back in the day there was DJ
Mandrill from Washington, David Toddin Philly and Morales was doing it in
Brooklyn. These housers influence artist like Marshell Jefferson, Jamie
Principle, Martha Wash and myself as well. House is never going to die.
Everybody is“N2House”
Peace
