So just who are Jazz Monkey and The X-Ray Dogs?
..
Jazz Monkey - Drummer
This extra-terrestrial primate-being came to earth to form a band and take over the planet, through music, celebrity status and highly advanced subliminal messages which are layered in all X-Ray Dogs material. He was taught to play the drums by Keith Moon and is a keen golfer and television addict
..
Rico Hondulez - Bass Player
Rico is a Voodoo Master and Gary Glitter lookalike. Unfortunately, he hasn't had much work recently and is therefore concentrating his efforts on the band. He grew up in Las Vegas and has spent much of his life living in the back of a 1974 Cadillac Hearse- which incidentally, was once owned by Burt Reynolds.
..
Kitty M Blackwood - Guitarist and Vocalist
Originally a blow up doll brought to life by the power of Voodoo, Kitty is Rico's girlfriend and confidante. She is classically trained and plays several instruments including the bagpipes, the pipes of peace and the pipes of pan. Her voice is so beautiful that some of her recordings can only be heard by dogs.
..
Supershine 009 (a.k.a DJ Tin Can) - Noises & Vocals
A robot from the former Soviet State of Czechoslovakia, built in Prague in the mid 1950s, he is Jazz Monkey's trusted sidekick and translator. He was recruited for his planning skills, ability to do earth sums and his outstanding mathematical musical aptitude. Some say that he is the real brains behind The X-ray Dogs
..
MiniElvis - Manager
The real actual live Elvis, but miniaturized to about 30 inches; it is a long yet untold tale, but suffice to say that Jazz Monkey has visited earth several times before, and on one of those visits in the summer of 1977 he was in the vicinity of a toilet in Graceland, Memphis Tennessee.
So that's the band . . .
But how did they meet? Well...
The band formed many years ago in San Francisco after Jazz Monkey's spaceship crashed into Rico and Kitty's squat. It was here that they were first introduced to Jazz Monkey's crew, a robot named Supershine and MiniElvis. Jazz Monkey quickly began endorsing his megalomaniac, music-based, world domination plans to the eagerly assembled group. A recording session in Las Vegas swiftly followed, resulting in the band's highly acclaimed debut album, 'Alta Plaza', available here for the very first time in 'Supershiny Stereo Surround Sound®'.
Unfortunately, the band mysteriously disappeared in 2008. On the run from the FBI, IRS, WWF and The Church Of Scientology, they are currently listed as missing presumed dead after their car was found at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. However, no bodies were ever recovered.
The album 'Alta Plaza' is the only testament to their brief but tumultuous existence. Buy it now at all good download sites and enjoy their effervescent mentalist musical musings.
