WRENCH is an extremely heavy 4 piece from Brooklyn, New York that has an "old school but new" sludge sound that some have likened to "Carnivore meets ZZ Top"!
It's member's range from former member's of Life of Agony and early version's of Type O Negative to the neo-punk act The Krays, and have played with member's of band's such as Carnivore, Drain, A Pale Horse Named Death and others throughout the years.
Wrench has just finished their first full length album "Dry Heaves & Tears", containing 13 of the most brutal tracks ever recorded with Joey Z at Method of Groove Studios in Brooklyn. The album contains artwork and a 20 page booklet by notorious dark artist SAM "Mr Sam" Shearon (Rob Zombie, Fear Factory, APHND & others).
Originally formed in the early 90's, founding members John Musto (Guitar)and Case (Bass) searched for a new sound in heavy music. John put down his guitar and picked up a bass and attempted to create the heaviest sound imaginable and he succeeded. The two-bass player Wrench was formed. Shortly after the writing process began, John and Case recruited drummer Mike Palmeri, who had just parted ways with LIFE OF AGONY after signing with them to Roadrunner Records. The trio went through a couple of singers until the band's breakup in early '95. Along the way, energetic and powerful live shows with TYPE O NEGATIVE, GWAR, OVERKILL, BIOHAZARD, VISION OF DISORDER, and countless others made Wrench a band no one would ever forget. Fast forward to 2008 and Wrench is back, although things are a bit different now. John and Mike have abandoned the 2 bass setup. John is playing guitar and doing lead vocals and Mike will remain on drums. They recorded the band's first demo in 15 years with Joey Z. at his Method of Groove Studio in Brooklyn.
After a lengthy search to complete the lineup, Pito and Wynn (of SKISM fame) filled the guitar and bass spots respectively. With the new lineup and new CD, 2009 was a good way to restart Wrench.
In 2010 we welcome in a new guitar player. Bob Deacy has been recruited into the band as our new guitarist. Bob is a veteran of the scene, having played with former Kiva Recording Artists, Toximia. We look forward to continuing to work with him in '11 and beyond.
