Longtime friends and musical collaborators Jeffrey McGrath, Michael Bouyoucas, and Elke Wardlaw make up the experimental post-rock group Thank You.
After building up a reputation with tightly knit and ever-sprawling live shows, they released their first album, World City, in August of 2007. With heavy textures built upon primal syncopated beats, the Baltimore trio found a fitting home with the rhythm-based indie label Thrill Jockey Records and released Terrible Two on June 3, 2008. The band toured internationally with Mi Ami and released a limited-edition EP titled Pathetic Magic before Elke Wardlaw left the fold. Wardlaw was replaced by drummer Emmanuel Nicolaidis, who played on 2011’s Golden Worry. ~ Jason Lymangrover
