From the ashes of Obsidian Empire, Adam Murcek and Shelly Graham decided to try one more time to create a band that would stand out from the rest.
With Dave Vosburgh, Paul Vacca and Bob Hudson, VIZAGOTH was born. The band brings a large variety of influences with them. Metal, Punk, Goth, Industrial, and more.Vizagoth, Adam was sitting at home one night back in 2005 watching the history channel. Adam was watching how Rome fell to the Visigoth. Having just left Obsidian Empire he thought to himself, that would be an awesome band name. Being a graphic artist and designer Adam got on line and started to research the name. He found, back in 2005, that there were no bands named visigoth. But, Adam thought that it was to good of a name and sooner or later someone else will think the same thing. So he played with different spellings of the name. He finally settled VIZAGOTH and drew up a logo. For almost 7 years he sat with this band in mind. He posted the art work on his Deviantart page and mentioned how this would be his next band.
Finally, Shelly called him one day and asked if wanted to get Obsidian Empire going again. Obsidian Empire had something different, but due to conflicks in the band it didn't last long. When Adam and Shelly Started jamming againg, Adam told Shelly about changing the name to VIZAGOTH. Shelly was on board with the name, and when Dave joined band he instantly like the band name. Paul and Bob both joined VIZAGOTH at about the same time.
Dave's is known for playing in Omaha's industrial band Haunted Reason. Paul and Bob have been in a few bands, but they came to VIZAGOTH after the break up of Antiock in Omaha Nebraska. The reason Adam wanted to explain this, is because, as he foreseen there is a band out there called Visigoth now. Also, Adam has come across the same alternet spelling for visigoth that he came up with almost 7 years ago. Not bands, but groups and a guitar named Vizagoth. He figures that's what happens when you post your art on line, chances are someone else is will think it's a good idea to. Well there is a little more about the band and how VIZAGOTH got it's name and why it is spelled differently. And to the other band out there called Visigoth (the correct spelling) VIZAGOTH wishes you luck in your music.
