V I V E Y N N E … has been performing and singing in public since the age of 8 and competing in classical music competitions, winning "dresser drawers full" of awards and medals in vocal performances of music theatre, opera, and folk/Celtic classical singing.
In 2008 at age 13, she first released her frightening vocals and piano demos onto MySpace. After that, traction grew and producer Chuck Kollatos (myspace.com/4thsyndicate) along with session players, John Lama, Beth Wilson (facebook.com/SirenSongBand), and Scott Fletcher (facebook.com/SpringCreekStudio, created a cohesive competency which allowed for "Becoming Jane Doe" to be released in 2009. This was to be the album that launched the interest in the VIVEYNNE project.
In 2010 she appeared in Beto Vázquez's album, "Existence" (youtube.com/watch?v=F9LB50gYs-4), one of many releases from his symphonic metal anthology, "Infinity", a project based out of Buenos Aires, Argentina (wikipedia.org/wiki/Beto_Vázquez_Infinity). She appeared as a featured vocalist on the track "Celestial Meeting" which appeared on the first disk of the 2-disk release.
Also in 2010, VIVEYNNE's reach allowed her to create another heavier progressive metal band, Syrynx, with producer Brendan Bell and other core band members and content composers, James Ruivo & Anthony Chris Mignella (others rapidly came and left the lineup as session players). They worked on their eventual 2011 EP release. Unfortunately, internal conflict caused a rift between the main members and this rift caused disbandment in 2012 due to their creative differences.
VIVEYNNE is now a solo musical project based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada that emerged from her 4-year hiatus in 2015 to wreak havoc on the world.
"Into The Woods" is the sophomore album that was released in September 2018 after years of struggling to record her compositions herself in a home studio without any prior instruction in audio production (and all it's fun subplots), etc. Most of the bare-bones recording took place between 2015 and 2016 with the mixing & mastering occurring throughout 2017. It finally took until September 2018 before the release was confirmed for that month. "Into The Woods" boasts a total half-hour running time; the 7 original compositions and one Winehouse cover feature contemporary jazz and Broadway-styled sounds fused with classical themes. VIVEYNNE blends melodic composition with ethereal and dissonant styles, including lyrics that are sometimes disconcerting; a juxtaposition to the generally soothingly slow tempo of the album.
As VIVEYNNE's experience and skills grew, the third follow up album, "Drowned.", was released in November 2019 after being composed in 2017/2018 and recorded in 2019. "Drowned." features a more produced sound reminiscent of 90s darkwave and synth-pop hits; a mix of Nine Inch Nails, Lana Del Rey, and Depeche Mode. Her classical fundamentals still shine within the new electronica arrangements, with orchestral motifs littered throughout the work. As is typical of VIVEYNNE, we receive haunting, mournful, and distorted vocal tracks that rip through the songs and give energy to the compositions thematically linked to the devastating consequences of addiction and self-sabotage.
In June 2020, VIVEYNNE released "House of Glass". It is the fourth studio release by solo artist and producer, VIVEYNNE. It is an album about feeling uncomfortable in one's skin and the longing to find connection is a world that is so fundamentally individualized & detached; all the way from the deeply unobservable atomic level up to the common & trite misunderstandings of human interactions.
