Josiah Bruny created and led the independent record label, Higher Ground Records now known as, Gorilla Del'Afrique Records, LLC to become one of the leading underground labels in Southern California and beyond prior to this.
Josiah Bruny, Founded Music Changing Lives, (Music Changing Lives), a non-profit organization focused on reducing our communities’ dropout rates through innovative music, art, fashion and business after-school enrichment programs. Josiah's vision is to build new-age community centers for disadvantaged youth who are aspiring to learn what it takes to compete in the entertainment industry and to teach them how to market themselves to become successful entrepreneurs. Josiah and the Music Changing Lives team give hope to the youth of today to become great leaders of tomorrow.
Josiah was raised in Altadena, California for most of his young life, but now considers the Inland Empire his home. Due to his hard work and dedication for the youth in our community, Josiah has been honored with several notable awards for his achievements in the Redlands Community Center and his work throughout the region. Josiah recently collaborated with the Moreno Valley Unified School District to establish what is now known as the "Changing Lives Showcase," a performance-art competition between two high schools in the MVUSD. In 2011, Bruny was offered to implement his results driven after-school programs into the K-12 public school system in the MVUSD to create early-intervention programs. Josiah’s goal for MCL in 2016 is to service more than 50,000 students in his after-school programs throughout the Inland Empire. “Changing lives, one note at a time.”
