Veronica Amarres, the daughter of two well-known St.
Petersburg musicians, made her debut as a pianist at the age of 12 on the stage of Great Hall of the St.Petersburg Philarmonic Society. She graduated from St.Petersburg Conservatory, with distinction, in two specialities - piano and singing. While she was still a student, she won a number of prestigious international piano competitions, including I.Prize of Senigallia Competition (Italy) and the III.Prize of UNISA Competition in Pretoria (South Africa).
As a young artist Veronica perfected her vocal technique in London with a postgraduate diploma and Opera Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She quickly gained international recognition in this field too: her prizes at international competitions include Grand Prix of s’Hertogenbosch Competition (Netherlands), I. Prize of “Maria Callas Grand Prix”Competition in Athens, I. Prize of “Premio Valentino Bucchi”Competition in Rom and the Honor Medaille by the President of Italy (2007) and prestigious prizes of such competitions as “Alfredo Kraus”, “Montserrat Caballe” and “Giuseppe Di Stefano”.
Veronica is unique as a performer in combining two such different musical spheres as such a high level. She has recorded 6 CDs (solo and with orchestras), sang in the UK premiere of the opera by American composer Dominick Argento and participated in numerous international festivals, f.e. Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, “Rossini in Wildbad”, Ferenc Liszt-Festival (Germany), “Brazil 500Anniversary Festival” (Rio de Janeiro), Opera Festival “KatiaPopova” (Bulgaria), Ravinia Music Festival in Chicago (USA) etc.She worked with many well-known conductors and orchestras - ClaudioScimone and “I Solisti Veneti”, Peter Maag, Alberto Zedda,Saulius Sondeckis and Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Dmitry Kitajenko, Paul Goodwin, Marc Soustrot, Zoltan Pesko etc.
Veronica Amarres considers her most important teachers the Kammersängerin Christa Ludwig, the famous American mezzo Grace Bumbry, Antonietta Stella and Professor Rudolf Piernay; as a pianist she owes much to the Estonian Professor Bruno Lukk, the virtuoso St.Petersburg pianist Valery Vassiliev and the pianist and conductor Christoph Eschenbach. Vocal mastercourses with Renato Bruson, Fiorenza Cossotto, GianniRaimondi, Evgeny Nesterenko.
Many well-known musicians - both pianists and singers - have expressed high opinions of the mastery, artistic sensibility and performing capabilities of this young artist.
Veronica Amarres nasce a San Pietroburgo (Russia) da una famiglia di celebri musicisti. Inizia gli studi pianistici a 5 anni presso la Scuola Speciale del Conservatorio “Rimski-Korsakov” di San Pietroburgo. Tiene il suo primo concerto a soli 12 anni nella Sala Grande della Filarmonica. Dopo aver studiato pianoforte e canto lirico al Conservatorio di San Pietroburgo, diplomandosi in entrambi colmassimo dei voti e la lode, perfeziona gli studi vocali alla Guildhall School of Music and Drama di Londra.
Vincitrice di importanti concorsi internazionali pianistici (tra i quali il I°Premio del concorso pianistico di Senigallia e III° Premio del concorso pianistico UNISA in Sudafrica), e vocali come “Maria Callas Grand Prix” ad Atene (I° Premio), ‘s-Hertogenbosch in Olanda (Grand Prix), “Premio Valentino Bucchi” a Roma (I° Premio 2007); premiata in altri concorsi come “AlfredoKraus”, “Montserrat Caballé” e “Giuseppe Di Stefano”.
Veronica Amarres è un’artista unica che unisce in se il talento straordinario per due campi così diversi. Svolge attività concertistica in Europa, America del Nord e del Sud, Giappone, ha preso parte a numerosi festival in tutto il mondo, tra altri Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, “Rossini in Wildbad”, Ferenc Liszt-Festival (Germany); “Brazile 500 Anniversary” a Rio de Janeiro, Ravinia Festival (USA), Festival d’opera “Katia Popova”(Bulgaria). Ha collaborato con famosi direttori e orchestri come Peter Maag, Claudio Scimone ed “I Solisti Veneti”, Zoltan Pesko, Alberto Zedda, Saulius Sondeckis e Orchestra da Camera di Lituania, Marc Soustrot, Paul Goodwin, Dmitri Kitajenko, BrunoAprea e. a.
I suoi maestri principali sono la grande Christa Ludwig, la famosa americana Grace Bumbry, professore Rudolf Piernay; e nel campo pianistico – grande musicista estone Bruno Lukk, il virtuoso pietroburghese Valery Vassiliev e Christoph Eschenbach. Masterclass con Renato Bruson, Fiorenza Cossotto, Gianni Raimondi, Antonietta Stella, Evgeny Nesterenko.
Veronica Amarres è stata la più giovane Charlotte al fianco del grande Alfredo Kraus durante uno dei suoi ultimi “Werther”.
