"Unlike other geek acts, which tend to be a little one-dimensional, Velva digs deeper to create something more complex… other tracks are harsh and industrial enough to evoke Throbbing Gristle." – Chicago Reader

"Pop for the Future. Chicago's Velva will amaze the bleep out of you." - Kalamazoo Gazette

VELVA’s synthesizer heavy space rock laced with 8-bit hip hop beats and circuit bent textures paints varieties of interesting soundscapes combining elements of classic and contemporary electronic music in every show.

VELVA’s psychedelic electronic pop show has visuals like Pink Floyd, dance remixing like Dee-Lite and songs that venture into space jams like the Grateful Dead, between love and madness lies VELVA.

VELVA’s catalog fits snugly on an iPod with Beck, Ween, The Orb, Parliament, Frank Zappa, Throbbing Gristle and ventures into instrumentals reminiscent of sci-fi movies from the 60's and 70's.

VELVA’s Lord Lofgren, Ambassador-to-Earth, rotates rare and custom instruments laying down leads, glitch rhythms and heavy loads of lush synthesizers to every song.

VELVA’s Cybernaut, a robotic effectician and 70’s avant garde specialist adds layers of melodic sic-fi sounds, strings, movie samples and ambient rhythms.

VELVA’s DJ/VJ Dreamdaze, an 8’ tall space alien created in a lab on Planet Velva, remixes the band Kraftwerk style live while covering the group in layers of video, graphics, lasers and fog.
