A blue-eyed soul band in the vein of early Wet Wet Wet and Simply Red, the five-piece Vagabond were the first guitar band to record an entire album with the Xenomania hit factory.
Hailing from Uruguay, Denmark, and England (specifically, East London and Huddersfield), the band consisted of singer Alex Vargas, lead guitarist Luke Fitton, rhythm guitarist Stephen Carter, bassist Sam Odiwe, and drummer Karl Penney. Formed at Brian Higgins' studios, Vagabond signed to Geffen Records before embarking on a six-month acoustic tour. After Vagabond supported James Morrison, the Script, and McFly on their U.K. tours, the band's debut album, You Don't Know the Half of It, featuring the single "Don't Wanna Run No More," reached number 27. However, due to disappointing sales, the band was dropped, and in February 2010 Vagabond announced through their MySpace page that they had split. ~ Jon O'Brien
