    Quick tip! I hear people say ”well at least...” or explain what is going on for them promptly followed by, ”but”, a lot these days.For example:Work cut my hours dramatically but at least I still have my job. OrThat hurt so bad but I'll get over it, just gotta try and stay [positive.By|mysp.ac/4Yb7o] speaking this way, everything before the ”but” or ”at least” gets invalidated. Then we add a layer of guilt or judgment for the feelings attached to the first part of our [truth.So|mysp.ac/4Yb7p], in this manner ”still having a job” negates how awful it must feel to lose our income.     Stop, collaborate and listen!Okay, okay - but seriously.Just because you are a good caretaker doesn’t mean it’s your job to take care of everyone.If you are a good friend you’re not required to be everyone’s friend.The fact that you made it through a crisis with strength does not mean you have to power through things without feeling and healing.You are not the fixer whisperer. You are not obligated to do all the things because you have done so before, (momma’s I am looking at you!)
