Trolle//Siebenhaar are a downtempo electronic duo from Copenhagen, Denmark, who scored a mainstream breakthrough hit with "Sweet Dogs" in 2007.
Stylistically reminiscent of late-'90s trip-hop acts such as Portishead and Morcheeba with a ska-reggae lilt and dub-reggae sensibility, Trolle//Siebenhaar are comprised of vocalist Ane Trolle and producer Pato Siebenhaar (born Martin Siebenhaar), who met through mutual friends at the Copenhagen reggae club Ruba Dub Sundays. Born in 1979, Trolle is from Sorø, Denmark, and, along with Josephine Philip, is a member of the dance-pop duo JaConfetti, who made their full-length album debut in 2007 with The Rainbow Express on Sony BMG. She has collaborated with a variety of electronica producers in addition to Siebenhaar, among them Trentemøller ("Moan") and Peder ("White Lillies"). Born in 1977, Siebenhaar is from Dragør, Denmark, and was a founding member of the Copenhagen ska-rock band Furillo. He made his full-length solo album debut in 2006 with Music for Early Birds & Nighthawks on Flamingo Records and, along with Lasse Lyngbo, is a member of the electronica duo White Pony. As Trolle//Siebenhaar, Trolle and Siebenhaar made their recording debut in 2006 with the single "Sweet Dogs" on Boom! Records. The single became an underground hit in Denmark and was eventually licensed for international release by Universal Music in 2007. It became a mainstream hit in Germany and Austria as well as domestically. The full-length album Couple Therapy followed in 2008 on the Artpeople label. It debuted in the Top Ten of the Danish albums chart and spawned a Top 40 follow-up single with "These Streets." ~ Jason Birchmeier
