Formed in 1999 by members of 4 bands Neal Morse (Spocks Beard) Roine Stolt (The Flower Kings) Pete Trewavas (Marillion) Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) who initiated the supergroup idea.
. Recorded their first album SMPT:e in summer of 1999 in NY . Have since released 2 more albums plus 3 Live DVD's . New album is scheduled for release early 2014, followed by a short world tour . Live the band is augmented by Pain Of Salvation frontman Daniel Gildenlow.
